President Newt Gingrich?

"Former House speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) says he expects to run for president in 2008 if accepted as the Republican nomination.

"If at that point there's still a vacuum . . . then we'll probably do something," Gingrich said, adding that his policy pronouncements have more weight if he is seen as a potential presidential candidate. "If you're interested in defining the idea context and the political context for the next generation of Americans, which I am, the most effective way to do that is to be seen as potentially available."

At least until your past catches up to you.

No way does this guy get the nomination.

I'm running scared to Canada if he does.

Take me with you if you go, I've been saying the same thing since Bush got re-elected.

I honestly beleive at least 30% of Bush's lack of popularity has been a result of unpleasant tasks that had to be done for the good of the future. Things that hurt and are very unpopular in the short term.

The other 70%...well I'll just leave that alone. Shocked

But Gingrich being nominated for the Presidential election? No freakin way. The GOP isn't even that silly.

I like that term in the article: "Christian adultery". Laughing

I'm wondering if, or when the Republican realize they will probably just be crunched in the next presidential election, if they'll just put any old person up there, because they know they are going to lose?

At some point its got to go through their heads that, they've done as much damage as they can in this presidency and maybe just take a 4 year break, and try to comeback strong in 2012.

This is what I think happened in the election of 2004 and the Dems...they just sent in a sacrificial lamb in Kerry.

If he was, Kerry wasn't aware of it.

No doubt. Who ever is in that position has been well fooled by their party.

I'll admit I was fooled, I honestly thought George Bush didn't have a chance in hell, and was shocked when he won.
