Best Western is not cheap.
Today I've spent most of the day preparing for our family vacation in Philadelphia. We used to just jump in the car and go places, but now it involves car reservations, hotel reservations, tons of print outs on the computer, calling lots of numbers and most of all getting the best deal. One of the hotels recommended to us was the Best Western in Philadelphia. Looking up the rate for a room on the internet yielded about 125.00 a night for the hotel. Wow... "I'm a motel 6 kinda girl", this was a bit insane. After calling the hotel, and asking for a quote, they gave me $95.00. I still was kinda upset at spending that kind of money. Since the nearest Motel 6 was 12 miles away, and this hotel is one block from the famed Rocky steps, I still wanted to stay at the Best Western Hotel. Finally I called their 1-800 number. The lady quoted me $116.00, even with a coupon code of 20% off. I told the lady, the motel staff gave me a quote of $95 dollars. She said I don't see that price, but I can do $89.00...
Now you tell me.
So I gave her the credit card number and locked in over 3 hours of work searching every known travel site, cross referenceing it with Google maps, and conquering the ultimate hotel discount. Best western isn't cheap in Philly, but it sure beats the $499 dollar a night hotel that is a couple blocks away. I just hope they don't charge outrageous prices for a cheese steak when I get there. |

Embassy Suites. Not much more expensive and free breakfast and happy hour. _________________ Procrastinate now, don't wait until later. |

The main reason we chose this one is location. It's about a block from where I need to do some business. We're only staying there like 2 days before for we head down to Washington D.C. There we will be slumming it in the Motel 6, unless President Bush decides to put us up for the night. |

Give him a call. Maybe the Lincoln Bedroom is open. |
