Elizabethtown
Okay the next time someone tells you, that you remind them of someone in a movie, perhaps you shouldn't always rush to the conclusion that its a compliment.
Several months ago when the movie Elizabethtown came out, several of my single friends who have way to much time on their hands, and way to much money to spend from not having kids decided this was "the have to" see movie of the hour, and was dumbfounded by how one of the main characters reminded them of ME!?
Now I assumed this was a compliment, though I've never quite considered myself anything like any of the roles Kirsten Dunst, has played. It of course would take me till just this last weekend before I had the chance to see it.
So armed with this information, and only 5 minutes into the movie, Shannon rolls her eyes and begins hysterically laughing when the deep southern drawl of Kirsten's character begins to speak, and then the obnoxiously giddy and repetitive line of "Exit 60-B" is played out.
Its at this point I turn to Shannon and say "Well at least I don't say Buggy for a shopping cart." She stopped laughing.
Once I got over the fact my friends think I'm a flighty blonde who likes to use big words, but comes across like a Kentucky beauty queen at a pig pickin, I actually enjoyed the movie. In fact, I'd say the best Chick Flick I've seen in a long time.
Despite what my friends think of me, its gone on to prove that after living in Los Angeles for 6 years, you can take the girl out of county, but you can't take the country out of the girl. |
