Opening Wednesday, October 25th at The Broach Theatre in historic downtown Greensboro is the critically acclaimed rock opera, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, by John Cameron Mitchell and Steven Trask.

Hedwig and The Angry Inch tells the story of an "internationally ignored" rock singer, Hedwig, and her search for stardom and love. Born a boy named Hansel whose life’s dream is to find his other half, Hedwig reluctantly submits to a sex change operation in order to marry an American G.I. and get over the Berlin Wall to freedom. The operation is botched, leaving her with the aforementioned "angry inch". Finding herself high, dry and divorced in a Kansas trailer park, she pushes on to form a rock band and encounters a lover/protégé in young Tommy Gnosis, who eventually leaves her, steals her songs and becomes a huge rock star.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is sponsored by Yes! Weekly and stars Broach favorite Jimmy Tunstall as Hedwig, Christy Johnson as Yitchak and one of Greensboro’s hottest Bands, Starlyn Garvy as The Angry Inch. Rodney Luck (Whoop-Dee-Doo, When Pigs Fly) returns to the Broach Theatre to direct.

The show runs Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm-10pm, October 25th through November 4th; a 2pm matinee on Sunday October 29th; and late night performances on October 27th and November 3rd at 11:30pm. Anyone coming to the special late night shows dressed in costume will receive a discount on admission.

Please join the actors on Thursday, October 26th for a special wine and hors d'oeuvres reception immediately following the performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The Broach Theatre, located at 520 South Elm St., was founded in 1987 in the building that served originally as the home of The Salvation Army from 1927 to 1975. It is the longest running professional theatre in downtown Greensboro.

Ticket Prices are
$20.00 - General Admission
$18.00 - Senior Citizens
$15.00 - Students
