God LIKES him?

I often look in on TCN (all GAWD! all the time) in the mornings. Just for a few seconds, usually. But this morning, I saw something that caught my attention. There was this guy interviewing (they said) the first black chaplain to achieve the rank of Admiral on the US Navy. The guy interviewing him asked how he had gotten so far, and the man said, "Because God likes me!"

That would have to be the reason, I expect. Because anyone else that self-centered and obnoxious would almost certainly have stayed in the darkest bowels of most tugboats otherwise. I can't imagine anyone else liking such a creep. Of course, everyone cheered. As always... YIKES!

Aside from the comment was there anything else that you considered self centered/obnoxious? Sounds like he was just pandering to the crowd. Something I've been known to do from time to time to be honest.

Considering the source (GAWD! TV) maybe this was all he was doing? One doubts he would be secular on the GAWD show. Im sure the producers prompted him a bit before he went on. Just a thought.
