Voice your political affiliation by choosing your Ketchup

Back in the last Presidential election, there was a call by Republicans to boycot Heinz ketchup because John Kerry is married to the heir of that family fortune.

So a group came out with their own "Republican brand" of ketchup: W Ketchup, For G W Bush.

My dad was/is very anti-Bush. So it was the perfect gag gift to send to him. Well the brand is still going strong and I noticed price has come down a bit too. I tried it and it was tastey enough. I'm not a ketchup snob.

The brand claims it donates a portion of all sales to scholarship funds.

I think they didn't bet on the sales going long-term because now they claim the "W" stands for Washington and is not affiliated with President W. They are now coming out with organic W ketchup. Wouldn't that be funny if it became successful?

Anyway, I thought it was worth a political chuckle.
