Darn Gremlins Jews

Ordered Spielberg's Gremlins from Netflix, since the kids have never seen it. There's a scene in the movie where the lead female character talks about her dad dieing by dressing up as Santa and coming down the chimney. He slips and breaks his neck. She says "That's how I knew Santa was fake" (or something along that line.)

There was my two kids sitting on the couch, me and Shan sort of eye-balled each other in a "Oh crap" moment. I don't think the kids noticed, but I thought.... "What an odd-ball scene to be placed in a child's movie." If this movie came out today, I'm sure Christian's would be picketing...

Spielberg definitely has some issues with missing out on Santa....

It's almost like a practical joke on the holiday... technically it was kind of funny, if it wasn't my children losing their fantasy of Christmas. Don't worry Spielberg... I'll get you back by lying to them and Tell them Jesus has already been here once.

Gremlins wasn't a 'childs movie'.

Expert...on everything...

Really, you get a little web space and you don't have more important things to write about. The economy is in the tubes, we have an idiot for a president and you decide to pick on Jewish folk.

I was going to say -- this was one of those movies that are a sort of gray area, I think. It's written for adults to remind them of the slapstick comedy they had as children.

I love Jewish people. I'd be Jewish before I'd be Christian to be honest...

Oh, and look around, you'll find we're a well rounded internet publication.

Get over it.
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you "choose" to respond to it.

I've tried to find a hard-link to any article referencing this story but I haven't found one yet. It ran on WGHP's 10:30pm news tonight, and I quickly jotted it down. Basically in McDowell County, North Carolina a Reverend by the name of Rodney Franklin has posted on the church marquee:

pray for the Jews to accept Jesus as the Messiah

Darn Jews.... We gots to pray for them.... if we don't they may spread their anti-Jesus hate message to the masses...

Okay... one question? Aren't there more important things to ask God to fix?

No, there isn't. Nothing is more important than the salvation of persons. Nothing is more powerful or gives more glory to God than prayer. When Jesus returns He will fix everything that needs "fixin".
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second,it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Over the years, I've had many struggles with the concept of living with those who can't stand the notion of others having differing religious opinions. It alternatively makes me sad and upset, but in the end, I think that there's really nothing to be done about it. Other than to point out that it's a pointless and self-defeating attitude.

You can cast all the magic spells you want -- or bomb all the buildings you want -- but you will never have a chance to make all people have the same religion. And even in the case where you have a community of people who do rigidly conform to a standard religion, it makes no difference to their lives in the end -- they all get sick and die eventually, just like all other groups of humans.
