Will the Bald Greensboro Christian Rocker Chris Daughtry win American Idol? Part of local band Absent Element (defunct website: absentelement.com) he suffers stiff competition from Ace Young

Biography - Chris Daughtry

Role:
Lead vocals/ guitars

Hey, I'm Chris.

I was told I could really sing when I was in 11th grade (I was 16), by my friend Robert. (I hope y'all haven't been lying to me all these years). We had to write a song for class, so I forced myself to sing in front of him. I always enjoyed singing but never had the confidence that Robert gave me that day. We wrote a couple songs and I was hooked. I knew at that time, that's what I wanted to do with my life. He taught me some guitar chords and I took off from there. I've been in several bands but have never experienced the chemistry that Absent Element share.

Though I've always enjoyed singing, I was never pushed until I was in a rock band. Therefore it took years to develop the strength and range it takes to deliver Absent Elements' screaming sound. My song writing comes straight from the heart. I write about my relationship with God, my wife (who inspires most of my lyrics) and other life experiences. If it didn't happen to me, I can't effectively and honestly write about it.

It looks like we are going to have a good top 12 this year. I like the name Paris. It sound like a star name and is a name I can see on a CD cover.

Christopher Daughtry is unique because he kinda combines country with rock and I like the raspiness in his voice.

I want someone from NC to win again

WE RULE AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

Hmmm... Interesting....

Sources connected with the show... (say)...that Ace Young and Chris Daughtry are hands down the most difficult contestants for producers to handle. Once source called Ace and Chris, who were roommates, "constant complainers."

I'm sorry I can't add much to the Chris Daughtry discussion but I don't watch a lot of primetime tv. Thats not to say I am better than anyone that does watch it, I just started losing interest for some reason a few years back. I have seen a couple of episodes of this show this year and realized there are a couple of contestants from NC. Great. Hope they win or whatever.

Don't really know what stipulations mayors normally give keys to the city for. What exactly is that honor supposed to bring with it?

Perhaps its those same red-staters who elected bush, that kicked Chris Daughtry off American Idol. That's the only way I can explain it.

DAMN YOU OHIO!

On the radio this morning they said over 9 million votes are missing.

DAMN YOU DIEBOLD!

Are we the Chris Daughtry fan's sore losers, or victims of voting fraud? Me.... I think both.

WorldSentiment.com user poll after airing of last night’s American Idol results shows that 71% have concerns about integrity and accuracy of results and raises the question “Is this the second time American Idol gets the numbers wrong and has to do a re-vote?” in reference to the March 23rd, 2005 American Idol re-vote caused by incorrect telephone numbers.

Monarch Beach, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2006 –- WorldSentiment.com, a leading public opinion oriented social networking site, today announced that 71% of people answering the poll “How confident are you in the integrity and accuracy of American Idol results?” poll have concerns regarding the integrity of the results on FOX TV’s hit show American Idol when the results were aired on Wednesday evening.

“Our polling leading up to last night and even after last night clearly shows that Chris was not the audience’s choice to be voted off the show and some users wondered if this could be the second time FOX TV does a re-vote,” said WorldSentiment.com co-creator and chief statistician Price Givens referring to the March 23, 2005 MSNBC story “American Idol Gives Wrong Numbers” (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7271702/) where MSNBC reported that American Idol viewers were given the wrong telephone numbers and the performances had to be replayed and a new vote taken.

The polling immediately after Tuesday night’s performances showed 52% believed Katherine McPhee would be voted off compared to only 15% who believed it would be Chris Daughtry. Leading up to last night’s results, WorldSentiment.com polls have correctly predicted the outcome of the past three weeks vote-offs.

...and gets half the crowd organizers expected. Way to promote an event and KILL IT, Rock 92 and KZL. Let's turn over promotion of the Super Bowl to those two stations and see how quickly they can turn it into the Liberty Antiques Festival.

This is Chris Daughtry's first bad career decision in the post-Idol era; in the future, DO NOT let those two stations TOUCH one of your events.

(I love how they blame graduations for the low turnout; HYSTERICAL!)

I've been out sick from the real world for a week, but I remember Jack saying on the radio that they where disappointed about the location they were able to obtain for Daughtry. I imagine if they would have had him in the Costco parking lots on Wendover it would have been alot bigger.

But did you see he turned down the opportunity to be the lead singer for Fuel? He's going solo. I think that's a smart move. He should release an album now, while he still has some fame power.

They originally were going to do the deal at McPherson Stadium (Bryan Park), but they moved it to Grimsley, which would seem to be BETTERin terms of a location closer to greater population.

Maybe Jack was referrig to the location of his deposition...

Deanna: "Look Chris I don't like how all these girls are looking at your butt! You're not going to do like my first husband and run-off! Your going to have to rig the voting so you lose."

Daughtry: "Look babe, I'm not going to run off, I've got this thing in the bag, and then will move to LA and send the kids to that school they show on 90210."

Deanna: "That it I'm leaving. I'm going back to the trailer."
Daughtry: "Deanna, you come back here right now woman!!! Come on! We can talk this over while you shine my head!"

Dear Liv:

In an effort to be fair and support your position (I'm doing this for YOU!!!), can you get me a viewing of the Chris' weiner, so that I can make my own opinion? I promise to examine it closely, inch by inch.

I've looked at some photos...and that's definitely NOT a sock...God bless America! Hee-haw!

Ok here's the deal. Chris Daughtry sends us a picture of his weiner (or wiener) and we will do close scientific research on whether or not it's a sock.

If it's real, I'll personally shut down Greensboring and turn it into the "Shrine of Daughtry" website.

Now of course we may need the actual specimen for testing if the photos arn't conclusive.

Based our our estimates of the package which I currently think is a sock, he might want to bring 2 or 3 of his band members to help him lift it in out of the car.

I would like to be a judge in this competition.

As for the dumping of his old band members, they stand by him. They auditioned and they didn't make it. No hard feelings on anyone's end, so why should we?

On that note, my CD shipped today and I can't wait to play that sucker to death.

Someone send me a pm when the wiener picture gets here will ya???

I am so excited! I think Chris is an awesome and very talented man. Guess what? I do know music! He is so real. I am very proud of him as a great talent from our area. I can not believe some of the rude and very stupid comments I have just read from some of you people. You have no idea how hard he has worked or prayed for this break. None of us know. He has a clear voice and personality that people all over the world has picked up on. It is so cool for a change to see a man with a nice wife and children with that music spirit. The family not the drugs and all the nasty crap. So I think he is as good as anyone I have heard in a long time!!!When I saw the band on Fox News the other morning, the music gave me a great feeling...chills! I can't wait to play the CD over and over!!! Good Luck Daughtry!!!!

You're damn right Chris is a weiner. He could have spasmed like Joe Cocker like Taylor did while putting a constipated expression on his face. Forget about the voice because who cares. We just wanted to be entertained. And you got to admit that guy was funny.

For my final Fun Friday post of the night, I thought it was necessary to continue on with tradition and post something about good old Chris. I've been rocking out to his new album, and love it, but it's brought a few questions to the table. Has Daughtry ever had hair? What did he look like? Are there pictures? What happens now that he's a hard-rocking heavy metal singer if they were to get out, what would that do for his career?

So I broke out my Cosmopolitan virtual makeover software and added some Gwyneth Paltrow locks, to our bad boy of Rock & Roll. The results speak for themselves:

Image

Thank you God for Chris Daughtry going bald... he may have never got a contract if he hadn't.

For all our Chris Daughtry fans who continuously come back here week after week, to find out exactly what we think of Chris, I give you the one post you won't want to read. Especially if Chris happens to be your eye-candy in your mind during your booty call with your sugar daddy.

Why you ask?

Well we've been asking, if Chris Daughtry was famous who would he look like.

Ok actually a online website that uses photo recognition to determine what celebrity you look like does.

So with out further ado, I present to you the Celebrity that Chris Daughtry most looks like, well kind of:

Image

Yes, that's Sweden's Annika Sorenstam in one of her least cheeky poises, but hey don't blame me that Daughtry looks like a Swedish Golfer. Of course that would explain why he got the little putting green on the back of the house.

Just wanted to say that people in alabama love you. Chris doesn't need enemies, he has his own people in greensboro kicking his ass.

You know it, Liv, Birmingham has the best idols. Not even hair can save Chris even if he got a gray wig.

To follow in a somewhat odd tradition, I found myself this week with a song stuck in my head, and guess whose it was. But after looking at the lyrics to Chris Daughtry's song "It's not Over", I have to wonder what the hell he's talking about? Sure it's a catchy jingle, but what the hell does it mean?

Lyrics to Chris Daughtry It's Not Over

"Daughtry It's Not Over"

I was blown away
What could I say
It all seemed to make sense.
Your taking away everything
And I can't do without.

I try to see the good in life.
The good things in life are hard to find.
We're blowing away, blowing away
Can we make this something good?

Well I'll try to do to it right this time around
It's not over,
Try to do it right this time around
It's not over
But a part of me is dead and in the ground.
This love is killing me
But your the only one
It's not over.

I've taken all I can take
And I cannot wait
We're wasting too much time
Being strong, holding on
Can't let it bring us down

My life with you means everything
So I won't give up that easily
Blowing away blowing away
Can make this something good?
Cause it's all misunderstood?

Well I'll try to do to it right this time around
It's not over,
Try to do it right this time around
It's not over
But a part of me is dead and in the ground.
This love is killing me
But your the only one
It's not over.

You can't let this get away
Let it out, let it out
Don't get caught up in yourself
Let it out.

Let's start over
Well try to do to it right this time around
Its not over
But a part of me is dead and in the ground.
This love is killing me
But your the only one
It's not over.

Lets start over
Its not over
This love is killing me
But your the only one
It's not over

So part of him is dead and in the ground? His love is killing him? Does his wife know? It makes no sense. Here's a rewrite:

Lyrics to Chris Daughtry It's Not Over by Liv

    "Daughtry I'm so over it"

    I was blown away.
I was voted out that day.
It all seemed to make sense.
Now American Idol makes me tense.

I try to see the good in life.
Because Good Bands are hard to find.
but it's either me or the unemployment line.
    I blew away, blowin away.
But Simon said I wasn't good that day.

I keep telling AE to get over it his time around.
    Cause, It's just over.
Simon's got my nipples in a vice in the ground.
    It's just over.
But a part of me is dead from selling out.
    This song is killing me
I'll forget my friends, with my money, no doubt.
    It's just over.

I think you haters need to keep hating.
Chris Daughtry was VOTED OFF American Idol and umm..

If I'm not mistaken his cd was released FASTER than the winner's.

I agree... I think the the whole vote thing was "staged" and I think Idol producers knew they could benefity from publicity by kicking Daughtry off, rather then let him win.

Ok, for those of you who are hating on Chris Daughtry I personally think it's just because you lack something in your own lives and are just jealous of his success. Being voted off of A.I. was the best thing that could've happened to him and I do have my suspicions of it being staged because he was the most popular idol by far. However, had he not been kicked off he wouldn't have the opportunity to do the music he is best known for doing. He would have been subject to being a pop artist when in fact he is anything but pop. The fact that not only was he voted off but came out with an album AFTER the release of Taylor Hicks' self titled album and soared passed with flying colors should give you guys a bit of an insight on talent and where America truly stands on what it means to be an artist. Now, concerning his lyrics to "It's Not Over" the song in my opinion is that he is in love and perhaps he might have made some of his own mistakes so he wants another chance to make it right with the love of his life because she means everything to him and he's not ready for it to be over. That is my perception of the song you may disagree which is fine by me but I really think that you "haters" need to open your eyes to reality and quit trying to blame someone else for you own insecurities. Thank You and you all have a great day!

First I'd like to say, I had nothing to do with the article published in a national publication that talks about Chris Daughtry's wife's past.

Now that we got that out the air. I suppose this might just take the heat off of me for publishing the worst tabloid article against Chris. So anyways, if you haven't heard, I'm sure you will. The dirt as I'm sure you'll hear, but I haven't found an online link to as of yet, is that Chris Daughtry's wife used to be a stripper at a local adult club that was shut down for drugs and prostitution. In addition, (and I'm going from memory on what I heard on the radio this morning) his children were birthed out of sequence with a second father with her being with Chris both before and after.

I'm waiting for someone to come out of the woodwork and claim they paid her for sex, but I'm hoping for their children it doesn't.

Afterall, we've all got to do what we have to do to support our family, and personally I don't think there is any shame in any of this. I do know however, how hard, Chris tried to bury the story about his new home over the summer here on this site, so I imagine they're not happy with the story of his wife being published nationally.

My dad says we've all got skeletons in the closet, which I always thought was odd coming from my conservative father, but as I said with the story on Chris Daughtry's house, theres a price to pay for stardom, and your naive to think otherwise.

Dockside dolls was the one that was shutdown. Does anyone know if that stuff really went on or was it one instance that provided a convenient way to have it finally out of Alamance county? I know they tried getting rid of that place for years. Makes me wish I had actually gone at some point.
