Google is more into education than posturing. Everyone knows it's Easter, I for one didn't know it was Chavez's birthday, or even much about him. Now I do.
It's a bit predictable that the right wing nuts get their knickers in a twist about this. Their sites happily use Google's AdSense and they studiously watch Google to see if they mention anything they disagree with - like a person from any country other than the USA (e.g. Jože Plečnik, India's 63rd Republic Day, Gioachino Rossini) or a scientist (e.g. Steno, Darwin, , or politics they don't like (e.g. International Women's Day, Earth Day.)
Chavez was against illegal immigration - he organised vigilantes on the border, and he was a Christian activist, so you'd think they'd love him, but he was a union supporter and cared about the poor so he loses out to the Easter Bunny (a socialist, handing out freebies)
They're all threatening to switch to Bing, which will please the uber-socialist Bill Gates, but then logic never was their métier.
