Thought my voter registration would be updated when I changed my name with the DMV. Nope. Went over to their office yesterday, and they said "No problem"... Still waiting on the online system to reflect it. I'm glad I'm trying to get this done now, and not November... as they're not going to let me vote otherwise.... but why is it my bank can update things in one afternoon but the state elections office seems to be working with monkeys on mule-back?

The lesson to be learned here? If you're going to change your name -- wait until AFTER you've traveled outside the country and voted for President.

I've got to admit this has been the first problem that I've really run into yet. But given the mess in their office yesterday, no wonder... It looked like dade county and the butterfly ballot down there yesterday.
