Ok. First Amendment. Freedom of Speech. Got me thinking during a board room meeting today. We have been casually advised to the following rules via our managers during our weekly meeting. Now let me stop you before you start, and say that these aren't implied as to be followed while working. I understand that, but while on company property, even off the clock we must abide by these rules.
1) No Vulgar language. (We can't curse, say Gard Darn it, etc.)
2) No Venting (No talking shite' about the company)
Ok. I get the idea behind it. I'm not an idiot. A given the current state of my company, and my relationship to it, I understand why management is hearing tons of employees state "the place is going to hell". But can they really, really, sit there in a meeting and say if they hear us use certain words in the parking lot, or bathroom we can be terminated? Seems... so, so.... Communistic?
