Starr School

So for Kicks & Giggles I was browsing through my old Yearbooks. I've got one from 1985-1986 when I was in 3rd grade back in Starr School up in Oregon Ohio. My best friend at the Time Lori, who I haven't heard from since 1988, comes up in my mind. We used to hang out and watch Flinstones at her house before the bus would come pick us up. We used to hang out front of the Wick Street apartment complex, just kicking it. She'd bag on my mis-matched socks, and we would play with her rabbit. Not unlike alot of my friends, we lost contact and have never heard from one another since. Alot of things have changed, one of which is having the Internet.

Oddly enough, while alot of us could, we often never do look up old faces from the past. I decided to do it, and what do you know. There she was. A Graduate from University of Toledo as a Criminal Law Student. She's gone on to work with the Cold Case Task force in Lucas County (my old hood.)

I know it doesn't seem weird to you. But I hadn't seen her since I saw this picture. It's like that show on TV where parents see their kids as they get older if they don't change their lifestyle. It was like a time warp. To see her all grown up. Technology is an amazing thing. Suddenly I remember the Dairy Queen behind the woods, the mean Kids, and of course that infamous moment I was told "Santa isn't real" by some mean retarded brats on the Corner. Lori was my big sister, and my best friend. She kept an eye out for me. I'm glad to see she's turned out so well.

The world, is a crazy, crazy place my friends.
