Duke Power and charity

My wife and I have this plan with Duke Power that evens out our payments over the course of the year. Makes it easy to do the budgeting when you don't have those seasonal swings between heating and cooling. That said, last month, when the bill came in, it had a section offering us the choice of adding some money for their "Share the Warmth" charity program, where we could help pay for heat for customers who couldn't meet their payments. We decided to put in $5 for the program to start off. The receipt came back itemized as having paid our regular monthly charge, and $5 was sent to "Share the Warmth."
Yesterday, we got an e-mail from Duke Power. They are now saying that our account shows a $5 credit. Apparently, their accounting system didn't know what to make of the extra $5 we sent for their own crackin' program.
Good one, Duke!
