A neurosurgeon is still a surgeon.

Trepanning is and has always been a relatively crude operation that has been done since the bronze age with tools like a hammer and chisel. A battery drill by comparison is not so very primitive.

What I want to know is why this idiot thought he needed a circumcision. And why he thought it would be best to try doing it on his own? This story left out a LOT of potentially useful information.

I expect it was one of those 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' events that was no doubt due to an excess of alcohol
