1870 - Greensboro KKK Murders John W. Stephens, State Senator
Greensboro, N.C. May 24, 1870.
Gen. Jos. C. Abbott--My Dear General: It is my mournful duty to inform you that our friend John W. Stephens, State Senator from Caswell, is dead.

1966 - Former Klan Leader Attempts to relocate the KKK to Greensboro
Cole attempted a takeover of the Klan organization through a move to Greensboro, N.C., but he died shortly thereafter of injuries received in a car accident (1967). CC
1979 - Greensboro Massacre
When the Klan/Nazis arrived, they pulled up to the curb in a group, alighted from the cars, calmly went to the trunks, removed their weapons, and began firing into the crowd of demonstrators. No police intervention was forthcoming.
1980 - News Headline: Sunday, 15 June 1980
KKK held rally last night as six former members of the Klan and Nazi party go on trial for the murder of five members of the American Communist Party in Greensboro, NC..... CC
2002 - KKK Recruitment Videos in protest of M.L.K Day are sent to local libraries.
The national office of The Knights? reported today that Greensboro Klan Unit #1701, Winston-Salem Unit #486 and High Point Unit #1073 have donated 4 VHS video programs to local communities. The national office coordinated the effort with the assistance of local party members and unit leaders.
