The father who figured that his daughter would be better off dead than "too westernized" should be proud tonight. His daughter died today from the injuries he inflicted on her when he ran her down in his car. Mission accomplished.

And as usual, the bastard didn't have the guts to stand over his daughter's inert body and take the consequences that society prescribes for what he did. No, he had to skip the country and fly to England. As if to say "My daughter deserves to die, and I deserve to live without paying any penalty for murdering her."

I notice these guys never kill a SON who gets too westernized. I have to wonder if that guy was using his daughter sexually (or dreaming of using her) and couldn't tolerate the fact she had a boyfriend.

He brings her here as a child and thinks she won't be affected by American culture? He is either stupid or power crazy or both. Why didn't he just pack up the family and go back to Iraq when he decided he didn't like our culture?

After the incident, Almaleki's father drove to Mexico, abandoning his vehicle in Nogales, Peoria police said. He then made his way to Mexico City and boarded a plane to Britain, where authorities denied him entry into the country and put him on a plane back to the United States, police said.

I sometimes wonder about the whole idea of one culture trying to push their values onto people in other cultures. But in regard to women's rights (and a few other matters BTW), I can't help feeling that our way is far better.

Good point, Liv. Why didn't he go back to Jordan or another middle east country where they would have approved of his action in killing his daughter? Could it be that he has gotten into trouble in him home country and fled to America? Got noplace to flee anymore?
