Texas explosion: who needs regulation?

Seems that the fertilizer plant in Texas that blew itself to smithereens had a problem. Handling ammonium nitrate, they were supposedly required to disclose that fact to the government. And they didn't.
Well why WOULD they, after all? Let those regulatin' guvmint bastards know something like that, and then they'd have guvmint spooks crawling all over the place, telling THEM what to do, how to handle the chemicals, RAISING COSTS, and for what? All in the name of safety and security? How much profits would that take away?
Texas has their priorities, dammit. Executives GOTTA get their bonuses and stock options... otherwise, they will go away and leave the companies paralyzed because only THEY can make profitable decisions!
Hope they have fun telling that to the families that are now ruined in the name of FREE ENTERPRISE.
