Fiscal crisis video for 6th Graders

What The Funk?

Postby SouthernFriedInfidel » Wed Dec 12, 2012 4:37 pm

This looks like a good explanation in terms a 6th grader can handle:

But... can American workers actually bear to work together for their own rights? I often wonder.

You're really helping me with the coming home blues SFI.

But great video.

Unfortunately, not every story ends happily ever-after.

I'm curious how everyone is feeling about this "crisis" thing.

Facebook people seem mad, but apparently someone wants to stall the budget. So I assume, Republicans want it?

Myself, I'm sick to death of all this grandstanding and failing to put together a REAL solution. All these dimwits in Washington seem able to do is put a bunch of short-term measures in place to keep the government from falling completely apart, and then going back to repeating their same points in an infinite loop until the next deadline comes up.

The pattern is revolting, because it does NO ONE any good, and the American voters appear unable to understand that THEY are able to correct the situation.

But I'm curious, because I've been a bit disconnected here for awhile...

What is the Republican's goals here? Is it to drive us off the cliff, and hopefully remove the president from his position?

Honestly, I don't think they even know what they want these days. For the past 4 years, their entire political strategy has been to do everything they can to make the country worse off, hoping they could blame Obama, in order to thwart his re-election. Ever since they failed in that goal, I think they've been operating on auto-pilot, not bothering to look at their situation with ANY sort of logic and develop any sort of new strategy.

So they seem to be hoping to drive the economy into another huge ditch, and offer to fix the problems when the 2014 election comes around. Doesn't make the least bit of sense... but then again, when HAS the Republican strategy made any sense?

BTW, as of today, I guess I'm no linger a Federal "moocher." If I can't get a job soon, I may end up losing the house I've been paying on for nearly 20 years. Thanks be to the capitalist fad of "outsourcing," and to no-compromise politics.

It's never made much sense. I found it funny in my economics class how it's been proven free-market economies don't work, yet despite this, we continue to push the American capitalistic model on the world.

And of COURSE, Eric Cantor and the Tea Partiers are gearing up to vote down the bill that was ironed out last night.

Why do they even try?

I have a strong feeling I'm going to regret, (even more than I do now [which is hard to believe]) coming back.

Why didn't I do a year abroad?
