States are asking permission to secede

What The Funk?

Postby SouthernFriedInfidel » Tue Nov 13, 2012 12:25 am

Heard about this today: At least 20 states have created petitions on the White House web site seeking to secede from the union.

Petitions for secession filed from Louisiana and Texas have already received well over 10,000 signatures. Per the website’s own rules, petitions that garner 25,000 signatures or more within 30 days require a response from the Obama administration.

Similar petitions from Alabama, Tennessee, and, interestingly, Oregon, are also gaining traction, with each receiving thousands of supporters over the weekend alone.

Other states trying to secede: Florida, Arkansas, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, Colorado, New Jersey, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Alabama, Michigan and Georgia. A petition was also started for the state of New York by someone in North Dakota (in fact, the petition’s creator, C R from Grand Forks, N.D., appears to be the same person behind the North Dakota one).

Interesting. When liberals were on the losing end of an election, they talked about heading to more pleasant political climes. When neo-cons lose, they start talking about destroying the nation. How's THAT for a contrast?

Of course, this is all part of the neo-con temper tantrum that was inevitable. The insanity that led to the Tea Party leads readily to the idea of going in on another civil war... and over what, exactly? These people can't STAND the notion of America not being run exclusively by white guys, answering at the polls TO white guys.

Pathetic.

Oh my!

I agree with the secession, but that's all we need is another war mongering country with nuclear aspirations headed by a religious nutter.

The movement seems to be snowballing.

Now there are petitions from 38 states to secede.

And a few petitions in the opposite direction, to "affirm that [insert state's name here] will forever be a memeber of the UNITED states..."

There's also a petition to strip citizenship from anyone who signs a secession petition.

AND a petition asking Obama to do the Hokey Pokey. Leading with his Right Foot, to show a spirit of bi-partisan co-operation.

GAWD, people are getting sillier by the minute!

We should start a petition to change the name of the country to OBAMA-IS-AWESOME-LAND

Has a nice ring to it, I think.

Personally I say if you're going to do it, get on with it... like THIS MONTH, I'm quite certain I can apply for asylum then!
