Parents doing horrible things to their children

It's stories like these that make me wonder about people.

Oklahoma doctor kills 9-year-old son

Mother accused of prostituting 5-year-old daughter

The first story is screwed up because the family life appears to have fallen apart with little warning so far as neighbors and associates could tell. A doctor knifing his son to death? He should have realized he needed help long before this.

The second one appears to have been #%@-ed up for YEARS. What I don't understand here is why people leading such ruinous lives choose to involve their children in that crap. Makes me sick...

"Lord, I come to you with open arms and it is hard. It is hard," Lockhart said Monday night as he stood among a crowd of about 500 gathered in a store parking lot for a vigil. "Don't give up on me and don't give up on Shaniya. She's right there with you."

We keep hearing how religion is a comfort to people. How does a person deal with the idea of a loving omnipotent God and this? 'Hard' isn't the word.

Of course, people who are used to asking God questions and favors that remain unanswered won't find this situation unfamiliar. They will remain in the mode of shaking their heads, feeling sad and waiting indefinitely for the god that doesn't answer or act, like Habakkuk.

...and isn't it just going to get worse, as societies pressures increase? The world we live in, and the the ideal we believe it should be is becoming further and further apart everyday.
This is our chance to change things, this is our destiny.

The possibility that this will get worse is one bug reason why everyone should try to make the world better. The only other option I can think of is to withdraw from society and attempt to live in isolation. Which seems to be a popular option for some folks...

Perhaps, could it be, America is just a horrible place where bad things (homicide) happen more than the rest of the civilized world? Perhaps our way of life leads to this horrific behavior.

A new story of horrific parenting: Kid gets 42 needles stuck in him. Authorities think it could be "Black Magic."

Ultimately perfect justice will be distributed. In the end, and we don't want to be on the receiving end of it.

Imagine if God reacted immediately to all sins, with the perfect punishment.

We would all be dead...

Finally what makes you so sure your truth is better than their truth?

Isn't it all relative?

It may be, so it's a good thing humans have empathy for others. I've noticed many religious people seem to lack it. Instead, they have list to consult which tells them who they can enslave, bomb and generally treat badly.

So this is Absolutely true right?

Do you or do you not believe evil exists?

All I am asking is for people to think logically.
