Build a Nuclear Reactor at Home.... or power a Time Machine!

Got reading about David Hahn aka the Nuclear Boyscout. The guy appears to be on a life long mission to steal camping lanterns and fire detectors for building backyard nuclear reactors which can produce plutonium. Yes that nuclear substance that Doc Brown stole from the terrorists to build his Delorean time machine.
The video how to gives any Internet owning individual the low down on making the stuff.
Hahn diligently amassed this radioactive material by collecting small amounts from household products, such as americium from smoke detectors, thorium from camping lantern mantles, radium from clocks and tritium (as neutron moderator) from gun-sights. His "reactor" was a large, bored-out block of lead, and he used lithium from $1,000 worth of purchased [1] batteries to purify the thorium ash using a Bunsen burner.[2]
In a subsequent interview with a state health official, Hahn said he had been trying to produce energy and hoped it would help him earn his Eagle Scout badge, according to the Harper's article. cite
Give him his freaking badge already!
As of 07 he's still at it. Apparently he's sucked up so much radiation, he himself is radioactive enough that he's developing his super hero powers: Acne Rays.
